Anyone used an automated lead generator to boost sales?

Question by Zach: Anyone used an automated lead generator to boost sales?
I've seen a few programs online that basically cold call for you... Then fwd the call to your phone when a caller is interested. Anyone tried these and did they actually increase your sales? The ones I have looked at are quite expensive, are they justifiable?

There are many inherent problems with lead generation services. Here are a few, poor lead quality, changed or inaccurate numbers and addresses, out-dated information and , above all the expense. Furthermore, the time wasted hunting all this stuff down could be better spent on upgrading the quality of your sales force. As the markets change, the world undergoes continued paradigm shifts, only the sales guys who are on top of their game will prevail. Many will starve. It's a fact. The biggest problem is that companies really do not want to pay a live salesman more than they think they can get away with. Funny thing, a couple of outfits I've worked for before, now pay me more to consult than when I sold for them. I left because they didn't want to pay. Guess what, they are paying me more for a lot less. Joke's on them. Penny wise, pound foolish.

Is google adwords the best option for getting traffic to my internet marketing blog?

Question by Duane Rackham: Is google adwords the best option for getting traffic to my internet marketing blog?
I have heard that google adwords only gets a 3-4% click through, is this true?
Is google adwords really the best option to get traffic to my blog?
How soon will I see trafffic come to my blog?

Answer by Ralph C
You get a low clickthrough rate with Google Adwords but you get a crapload of exposures. 3 or 4% of 1,000 is still a lot. Are you aware you have to pay Google Adwords for clicks? Quite a bit if you want to be anywhere decent in the listings? I don't see how a blog can be monetized to the point where you can afford pay per click advertising.

SEO for Adsense

SEO for Adsense

If you've been using Google's AdSense on your pages you obviously feel the need to somehow generate even more traffic for your website, which in turn would translate to more AdSense click and a higher income.

But who do you do this? Well, the major way you'll get visitors to see your website (other then using AdWords, which is encouraged as well) is to use some techniques to have search engines send more and more users towards your page, by ranking high in search results for your topics of interest.

Believe it or not this is a technique, better known as search-engine optimization or simply SEO. So here are a bunch of tips that come handy under every amateur or professional optimizer's belt.

The first thing you need to take care of is the actual source code and layout of your page. This has to be kept as simple as possible. The problem comes when AdSense and the search engines themselves begin to have troubles in extracting the most relevant keywords on your site because of a too complex layout.

Secondly, try to have each one of your pages target only one specific topic. This way it is a lot easier for them to get indexed properly and for the AdSense ads to be consistent with the content of the site itself.

Also, try not to include too many hyperlinks in your page as well. This also means you should try not to use too many AdSense ads on your page either.

If there are certain keywords you wish to target, make sure the word you wish to target is present in the title, in the first paragraphs as well as in the name of the file. While you're at it you might want to ensure the word springs up in the page's last paragraphs.

And of course, it's very important for your content to have original and compelling content. How do you do this? Well the easiest way to do it is to find something you're really passionate about. That way, providing you give it a lot of effort you're bound to have a great page quite fast.

If the content you use in your site is in the public domain (which is highly discouraged) make sure that you at least give it an original title, and add an opening and a closing paragraph of your own.

This takes a little while, but if, after waiting, you still can't find your page near the top, you should try rewriting your title and your first and last paragraphs. It doesn't take much, often just changing a few words will give you the right results.

And of, course there's the use of keyword tools that may aid you in finding some good keywords to include on your page that will drive visitors to your site more and more.

So those are about the basic techniques in search engine optimization. You can find a lot of computer tools to aid you in doing this, and of course, Google is a great place to search for this.

In the end, you'll find that SEO is a complex topic, and entire books have been written on the topic as well. You might find that you have a lot of optimization you need to do in order to get more and more visitors to your site and clicking those precious AdSense banners.

You need to have optimized niche website templates for best results. You may find the best adsense templates and blog templates at Adsense Big. They are offering 100 fresh new templates every month.

Google Adwords Question. How can I track which keyword a person used to complete a form on my website?

Question by michaelnaeseth: Google Adwords Question. How can I track which keyword a person used to complete a form on my website?
I have a lead generation service and I want to be able to find out which keywords people use to get to my website and complete my online form. I know I can check which keywords were clicked through adwords, but I get tons of clicks and not so many form submissions. How can I narrow that down to the keywords that resulted in a form submission?

Answer by Kit Adams
Here's a general answer, but you'll have to do some googling to find specific how-to information. You'll want to do 4 things:

1. Set up google analytics for your site, if you haven't already. Link it to your adwords account. This will tell you which ads are bringing visitors to your site. You will be able to see the keyword you specified in adwords that matched on what the visitor searched on, but you will not be able to see what the visitor actually typed.
2. Change the page that your form is on so that when a visitor clicks the submit button, it logs a tracking entry in google analytics. (Search for info on how to set up onclick events to run javascript pageTracker._trackPageview.)
3. In your google analytics account profile, set up a goal to measure clicks on the submit button, by counting those onclick events that your page is now tracking. (Search for info on analytics goals.)
4. Also in your google analytics account profile, set up a filter to put the full referral path into the User Defined Value field. (Search for info on full referral path, and user defined value.) This will allow you to see what the visitor *really* searched for.

Other notes...
-- When you set up goals and filters in an analytics profile, it takes at least 24 hours for the collected data to start showing up. So be patient while you're testing.
-- It's a good idea to make a second analytics profile for testing. After you get the filter and goal working, you can repeat what you did in your "official" profile.
-- In analytics, look under Traffic Sources > Adwords to see your adwords traffic stats.
-- In analytics, look under Visitors > User Defined to see your full referral paths
-- In analytics, look under Goals > Reverse Goal Path to see what visitors did on your site before clicking your submit button
-- Learn to make custom reports in analytics, so you can see the information you need in reports that are designed like you want them

Buy Backlinks – Will it help?

Buy Backlinks - Will it help?

Backlinks are basically links from other websites that are pointed back to you own internet pages. You need backlinks because they drive traffic and help you rank well in the search engines. Without traffic or good ranking, your website is a good as dead. There are many ways to get backlinks to your website.

One of the most common way would be article submissions. This is a process where you submit your articles to article directories. The moment your article is published in the article directory, you automatically receive a backlink. The more articles you submit, the most backlinks you’ll get in return. However, backlinks you get from article directories are not really that strong compared to other methods of getting backlinks. The reason why they are not strong is because the article page is new and do not have pagerank. With article submissions, you’ll benefit most from traffic instead of linking power that would play and important role in search engine rankings.

Another common way of acquiring backlinks would be link directory submissions. This is a process where your links are submitted to hundreds or even thousands of link directories online. Unfortunately, it takes a period of time for your links to get approved and listed. The approval process can take weeks to months. Even though some link directories may approve your links quicker than expected, the value of the back link you are getting isn’t that of any good because it’s most probable that your links would be listed in a page that has little or no pagerank at all.

Reciprocal ink exchanges is yet another common way to get backlinks pointing to your website. This is a process where you exchange links with other websites. You place a link to their website and they will place a link to your website in return. Manual reciprocal link exchanges can be a pain if done manually because you will have to look for suitable link partners, write them an email then if everything goes well, you will need to manually add link pointing to your partner’s website. Fortunately, there are reciprocal link exchange management scripts that automates the process. For this method of acquiring backlink, it takes abit of luck to get strong links especially if you site is new and does not have pagerank.

Article submission, link directory submission and reciprocal link exchange are 3 of the most common methods to of getting backlinks to your website. There are of course many otherways to get backlinks to your website. You can get backlinks from social bookmarking, social networks, blog commenting, video submission, template distribuition, software distribution, classified posting, forum posting etc etc. But most of the time, you will be getting backlinks with little or no value. Not only that, it is time consuming as well.

So what about buying backlinks? Will it help? Well it may or may not. If you buy backlinks from the scammers, it certainly won’t help. If you buy backlinks from websites that oversell link spaces, it won’t help either. There are many things you need to understand about buying backlinks. Some of the criteria you need to look at would be to check if it has genuine page rank, the website or page is index in google, and it doesn’t have to many links displayed. There are of course other criterias such as pricing and its page rank. If all the criteria is met, you may have very well found yourself a good buy.

The sad thing is, alot of us starting out on a limited budget cannot afford buying high quality backlinks (pagerank 6 and above) as they are very costly. From pagerank tables found online, a pagerank 6 link is equivalent to 91,414 pagerank 1 links. Notice it to be pagerank 1 links? Not pagerank 0 but pagerank 1? If you submit your articles to hundreds or thousands of article directories and get approved for listings, there’s still a degree of doubt that you will even get a pagerank 0 backlink. Mostly, the backlinks you will get do not have any pagerank at all as it is new and there’s no permanent backlinks pointing to it. Same goes for link directory submissions as well. Your link will most likely appear on a page that have no pagerank value at all. Without any pagerank, you can forget about ranking well in google.

There are 2 main reasons why people would buy backlinks. Firstly, for traffic and strong backlink which will improve their site’s search engine rankings. Secondly, they understand that it is more efficient to buy affordable backlinks instead of spending money on article writers or directory submission services. There are many places where you buy backlinks. Webmaster Forums for instance. Almost every webmaster forums you can find online will have a section dedicated to link trading. An alternative would backlink brokers online. Eventhough you can buy backlinks from backlink brokers, they are often more expensive compared those of webmaster forums.

So inconclusion, if you have some money at your disposal, don’t forget to start buying backlinks. The best scenario would be to practice the common ways of getting backlinks combined with buying backlinks.

The author of this article also has a blog where he shares his knowledge regarding instant backlinks. Specifically on how to get them instantly without having to buy backlinks
